Where in Devon #7 ?

The answer to last times WID was : Uffuculme! Well done if you answered correctly.

As a busy oven cleaner, servicing the whole of Devon and parts of Somerset, we get to see some beautiful places. So we thought we would run a little competition from time to time - we'll post a picture of one of the locations that we've recently visited, along with a clue or two. First person to email us (theovencleaningman@gmail.com) will win a £10 credit towards their next clean. We'll publish the answer to the location the following week, for anyone still puzzling.

So, where were we this week?

This village lies about 8 miles (13 km) north of Exeter, in the English county of Devon. It is one of the oldest villages in Devon and dates from the first years of the Saxon occupation.

The village is on the "old" road from Exeter to Tiverton and as such has always been a busy thriving place. The main feature of the village is the giant oak tree which is over 1, 000 years old.

On the first Saturday of each August, the village holds a Street Market, which is popular among local people. There are stalls selling local goods and crafts, as well as entertainment and children's activities organised throughout the day, and the fiercely competitive tug-of-war.

Have you sussed it out yet ? Email us with your best guess, and first correct answer will win the £10 credit. Good luck!!
